True to our commitment to never offshore our work, we’ve become increasingly interested in finding creative ways to automate some of the repetitive, time-consuming tasks that fill our days.
We are excited to introduce Desmond Adongo, our new AI Implementation Specialist, to the BTBK team! His background spans technology, business operations and process improvement, with a focus on making automation and AI useful, accessible and impactful across the firm. Before joining BTBK, Desmond worked with Wisconsin small businesses through the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh’s Small Business AI Center, identifying time consuming processes and building practical systems to streamline them. He came to BTBK in June with a simple philosophy: automate the repetitive parts and keep people focused on the work that requires judgement.
We have created a roadmap of tasks that could benefit from automation, scripts and rules for repetitive tasks, and from AI, which is useful when a task requires reading or interpretation. Desmond’s first priority was helping us handle the flood of emails related to vendor invoices, statements and payments. AI now reads incoming emails, filters and sorts them, while our team reviews the items that actually need a response.
Another example is helping guide our clients with weekly cash requirements. Built mostly through automation, these ready-to-review reports show what’s owed and what needs to be paid based upon vendor terms, automated on a weekly schedule and shared with our team and clients for review.
Our clients’ financial information and privacy are of the utmost importance to us. So, as we began exploring ways to use automation and AI in today’s tech-forward world, hiring someone with the knowledge and expertise to implement these tools thoughtfully and safely was an easy decision. Your data stays private and inside our systems, a human always reviews the work, nothing is offshored and your relationship with our team does not change.
Every process is tested thoroughly and we only roll it out once they’ve proven reliable, at which point Desmond provides best practices and training to our team to ensure safety and consistency. BTBK is here for our clients, same as always. There’s a human review at the start and end of every process; AI simply handles the repetitive work so our team can spend more time on you.
