At BTBK, we take our work seriously. Providing accurate, timely financials for restaurant operators requires focus, discipline, and a team that can depend on one another. But that doesn’t mean we’re serious all the time!
This summer, our Madison team stepped away from the spreadsheets for a couple of well-earned outings.
Cruising Lake Waubesa
On July 23, the Madison office team (also joined by one of our remote employees who made the trip to Wisconsin) kicked off the afternoon with lunch at The Breakwater. From there, we boarded a Paddle Pub and headed out for a cruise on Lake Waubesa.

Despite the name, actual pedaling was optional. With a captain handling the important part, the team was free to relax, enjoy the lake, and spend time together away from the office.
Our captain even let Desmond take the wheel for a while, earning him a temporary promotion to “Captain Desmond.” Fortunately, he handled his new responsibilities well, and we have the photo to prove it!

The other requirement of the afternoon had nothing to do with navigating the boat: everyone had to wear the Davy Crockett hat at least once. No exceptions. The hat made its way around the boat and helped create plenty of memorable photo opportunities along the way.

It was a beautiful summer afternoon and a great opportunity to connect without a deadline, reconciliation, or spreadsheet in sight.
Draft Day at Oakstone
The fun continued on August 27, when the Madison team gathered at Oakstone Recreational in Cottage Grove for our fantasy football draft.
Draft day brought plenty of strategy, friendly competition, and strong opinions about which players would lead each team to victory. Whether those carefully selected rosters hold up over the course of the season remains to be seen, but everyone left believing they had assembled the winning team.

A Team That Enjoys Working Together
Our team works hard to deliver the accuracy, responsiveness, and restaurant-focused expertise our clients count on. Taking time to enjoy one another’s company helps us stay connected and reminds us that a strong team is built through more than meetings and monthly closes.
We’re proud of the work we do and grateful to have a team that can share a few laughs along the way!
